The Maranao People Development Center (MARADECA) Inc handed out sets of cooking utensils as livelihood assistance to two chapters of the Ompongan o mga Bae sa Ranao (OBAERA), and as follow through to the trainings they completed this year.
The two chapters were located in Barangay Dimapatoy, in the Municipality of Bubong, and Barangay Guimba, in Marawi City.
The utensils were given on May 1-2 this year.
The MARADECA said the cooking utensils “will help the organizations utilize their learnings and skills in the series of food processing and packaging trainings given by MARADECA”.
The CARITAS Australia. Assisted the trainings.
Members and officers of the two chapters attended the distribution activity.
The organization has crafted policies and by-laws to sustain the mechanism of the livelihood assistance. The provisions will assist the women in their micro-enterprise activities and augment their income wherein most of the members are women.
A member from Barangay Guimba said expressed gratitude for the assistance. “We can now apply the skills and learnings we get from the training because we have the utensils we need. We can produce more banana chips and cassava chips. The utensils lessen our financial burden because now, we can use it as capital for raw ingredients.”
