The Maranao People Development Center (MARADECA) crafted its more determined and significant strategies for this year, after crystallizing its strengths and weakness in an assessment of its performance in 2013. This year’s strategic program identified more workable projects and ways to implement more development projects in the communities assisted by Maradeca and its partner organizations spread in Lanao del Sur. Where last year Maradeca measured its presence by the impact it made in the communities, this year identified the strategies to be used and systems to be adapted to effectively deliver and implement the programs. “Maradeca was able to identify the strategies to employ, lapses and gaps in the implementation and personal issues that might hinder their development. They were able to come up with a strategic plan for the 2014 activities,” the organization said in a statement. The assessment of Maradeca’s 2013 performance “used various strategies to get the most output to guide the group at how to move forward”. “These include participatory workshops, brainstorming, sharing of best practices, group discussions and critiquing,” it said, saying that 50 staff members and personnel from different Maradeca programs attended the assessment. The assessment also used a powerpoint presentation of the accomplishment of programs, the strengths and weaknesses, the organizational structuring by looking at the links and relationships of the departments and programs, policies and systems, strengthening, identifications of solutions to the issues that needed immediate attention”. Salic Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of Maradeca facilitated the assessment, and he was supported by their Resource mobilization officer Ms. Jamaliah Baulo, The assessment was held in Ragayan Inn Catering Services in Barangay Ragayan, municipality of Marantao in Lanao del Sur.
