Outreach Activity: Catch-Up Immunization in Brgy. Rubokun, Pagayawan
MARADECA-Relief International in partnership with the Local Government Unit conducted a Catch-Up Immunization Outreach Activity in Barangay Rubokun, Pagayawan, Lanao del Sur. The activity aimed to address gaps in immunization coverage by providing routine and COVID-19 vaccinations to children and individuals who may have missed their scheduled doses.
The outreach was made possible through the dedication of local health workers, barangay officials, and MARADECA staff, who collaborated to mobilize the community and ensure that health services were accessible even in remote areas. Parents were reminded of the importance of complete immunization schedules to protect their children from vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, polio, diphtheria, and more.
Aside from vaccination, the event also served as an opportunity to raise awareness on the benefits of immunization, provide health education, and strengthen the overall healthcare system in the municipality. With active community participation and support, the team was able to reach a significant number of children and ensure they are on track with their immunization milestones.
This initiative is part of MARADECA’s continuing effort to support the national goal of “Walang Batang Maiiwan sa Bakuna” — no child left behind in vaccination — and to build healthier, more resilient communities in underserved areas.
