Learning involves exploring capacities and edges over others in order to stimulate the learning environment. On this aspect, Maradeca initiated “Palarong Pambata” activity in its bid to build confidence, camaraderie, and sportsmanship among learners as well as the parents who actively participate.
The Palarong Pambata was conducted on the January 20 at Bacayawan Gymnasium, Sultan Dumalondong in Lanao del Sur.
The opening ceremony was marked with ground performances, where learners and parents enthusiastically dance singkil and malong-malong.
It was followed later by musical and literature contests, quiz bees, and parlor games like sack race, chair dance and “Maria Went to Town”.
The Palaro was also attended by the officials and functionaries of the barangay and traditional community leaders.
Assistant Provincial Manager, Ms. Marilyn Mai was the guest speaker.
The other speakers delivered inspirational speeches which encourage learners “on striving further to achieve their dreams in life and the parents who support Maradeca-BRAC for their children’s dream.
The community leaders likewise, acknowledged the teaching of their children and lauded the effort of the program organizer and his learning facilitators.
Maradeca said the PalarongPambata 2015 boosted the learners’ intellectual and psychosocial ability “and they are strongly encouraged to produce genuine output with their studies”.
Winners of the contests were awarded at the end of the activity.
